Testing methodology
The most important aspects of a network connection include the reliability, bandwidth and latency. The test situation consists of a modem which is inaccessible via a CAT5e connection. Wireless and EoP are the only choice, short of ripping up carpet to lay cable. As a result, the testing methodology consists of a comparison between a 802.11g wireless connection, and the TP-Link TL-PA201. The wireless device is a DLink DWA-510; the modem/router is a Billion 7300G. When testing throughput, a Lenovo T61 connected directly to the router via a CAT5e connection is used as the client. Both computers run Windows 7. All wireless testing is preformed with a 100% signal as reported by the OS.
The distance between the test PC and the modem is approximately 7 meters line of sight, with one wall in-between.
The tools used to test the connection include:

- AIDA32 (network plug-in)
