Take a walk on the Byteside
Australia's got a brand new chat sensation!
When Australia's best journalists get together to form a brand-spanking-new geek driven live show, you know you're in for a treat. Ben Mansill, founder of the enthusiast magazines Atomic and PC PowerPlay, and Seamus Byrne, dedicated freelance writer, have fused their oversized grey-matter processing devices to produce what has quickly become a hit amongst geeks.
Byteside is about bringing together experienced journalists to tackle important world issues. And by that, I'm clearly referring to gaming and tech. The weapons of mass discussion are led by host Seamus Byrne in front of a live audience in Sydney's Shelbourne Hotel, every second Tuesday. Audience members prod the panel of geeks by asking the hard questions, and are then left to embrace the deliberation they've so eagerly stimulated. Where else can you chat to your favourite journo whilst having a cold one? This is what makes it so special.
Anyone can attend, provided you're of drinking age (i.e. 18+). It's a wonderful chance for the average geek to express their ideas and opinions in front of the best the industry has to offer. To bridge the gap between reading magazine/website content, and discussing one-on-one with those who pen them, is an opportunity that most readers only dream of. Now it's a reality. And best of all, it's free!
